What is Solar PV
Solar PV, or photovoltaic technology, is a method of generating electricity from sunlight. When sunlight hits the solar panels, it’s absorbed by photovoltaic cells, which are designed to convert sunlight into electrical energy.
How It Works
1. Sunlight Conversion
Solar panels on your roof capture sunlight and convert it into direct current (DC) electricity.
2. Inversion to AC
This DC electricity flows to an inverter, which changes it into alternating current (AC), the type of electricity used in homes and businesses.
3. Electricity Use or Storage
The AC electricity is then directed into your building’s main electrical panel, where it powers your appliances. Excess energy can be fed back to the grid or stored in a battery for later use.
